In India, a four-wheeler is considered an aspirational product by many. Families often save for years before buying their first car. Once they acquire a car, whether brand new or used, it becomes a part of their family. The first car holds special significance for many, and they prefer to keep it for as long as possible. However, over time, the car begins to show signs of aging, demanding repairs and maintenance. Here, we have a video showcasing the restoration of a 17-year-old Maruti Suzuki Alto hatchback, which has been meticulously refurbished and repainted in a sporty blue shade.

The video has been uploaded by Brotomotiv on their YouTube channel. It features the owner dropping off his 17-year-old hatchback at the workshop for restoration. Interestingly, the car was originally purchased by his late father, making it a sentimental possession for the current owner as it was also his father’s first car. Due to this sentimental value, the car holds a special place in the customer’s heart. As part of this restoration project, the owner aimed to completely repaint the hatchback while making some interior customizations.

Initially finished in a blue shade, the customer opted for a premium blue hue similar to that found in the Lamborghini Urus. However, during the restoration process, as the team began disassembling the car by removing panels and the windshield, they discovered heavy rusting in the metal frame beneath the front windshield. This unexpected issue raised concerns as the project was initially anticipated to be straightforward. Consequently, the team decided to completely dismantle the car, only to find that no other panels suffered from rust issues.

The team proceeded by removing the rusted section from the frame and welding a new piece in its place, shaping the sheet to ensure a proper fit. They meticulously verified the alignment by reinstalling the windshield. With the rust issue resolved, the team addressed all minor dents on the body panels. They skillfully sanded off the paint, used a dent puller machine to eliminate dents, and applied a thin coat of putty for a smooth finish in the affected areas.

After removing excess putty, the car underwent a thorough cleaning and washing process to prevent any dust particles. Following this preparation, the vehicle entered the paint booth, where a primer coat was applied. Initially considering the Blue Elios shade from the Lamborghini Urus, the customer changed preferences after watching a Brotomotiv video on social media, opting instead for the Snapper Rock Blue Metallic shade found in BMW cars.

Each component—doors, bonnet, tailgate, and body—was painted separately to achieve a factory-quality finish. Upon completion, the finished product displayed a brilliant appearance, leaving the customer extremely satisfied. Notable modifications included the replacement of stock headlamps with aftermarket projector units, likely as per the customer’s request. Additionally, new seat covers adorned the car, featuring white covers with blue inserts, enhancing the overall aesthetic. The captivating blue shade revitalized the car, giving it a brand-new appearance reminiscent of a factory-fresh vehicle.
