Retrospective DC Fans Are Teaming Up To Determine Snyderverse Point Of No Return

When it comes to adaptations of DC Comics properties on screen, the initial wave shepherded by Zack Snyder did not exactly land with those who go outside regularly. It will be nuked when The Flash debuts, and, because looking back and avoiding letting go is something fans of any franchise do regularly, those who love these works are debating just where it went irreversibly downward.

As of this story’s writing, the above thread on Reddit has more than 1,000 comments and 2,000 votes on it. One argues that Justice League was the final nail in the coffin, as, if casual audiences do not care about a team-up film, they will ignore solo releases, but, one fan is not as certain. In their view, while the film was a disaster, had it been given more time in the oven, it would have hit.

Elsewhere in the discourse, critics say there was no specific final straw and it was more or less a series of bad decisions which led to the coming reboot of the mega-franchise. They say Suicide Squad was massively mishandled and making movies on more obscure characters first was a mistake, and, one fan says the recent Black Adam was the end of the road with its Superman fiasco.

Few fixes are circulating in the comments like the original poster asked for, but, apart from more time, there are suggestions Snyder being involved is what sunk it all, as he is not seen by some to understand superheroes, and, elsewhere, one blames what came immediately before Man of Steel in 2013. Essentially, Nolan made executives crazy and they hewed to his ideas too much.

The Flash releases June 16 after years of delays. Whether it will live up to the hype remains to be seen.
