Roon and Harman have a new Nucleus Titan server on the way

One product that flew a bit under our radar at CES 2024 as we kept busy checking out Samsung’s latest TVs and monitors is the Roon Nucleus Titan. Roon and Harman International, the latter of which is owned by Samsung, have developed a next-generation high-performance Nucleus server for audiophiles.
The Roon Nucleus Titan, as it is called, is the new flagship server from Roon. It takes advantage of the latest advancements in CPU and SSD technology and delivers upgrades and features including:
- 36% CPU performance gains and 37% improved power efficiency compared to the Nucleus Plus server.
- 80% faster RAM and memory bandwidth.
- New fanless CPU heatsink.
- Customizable SSD options, including 0, 2, 4, or 8TB
- Two USB-C, two USB-A, two audio-only HDMI ports.
- Multi-zone audio configurations
The Roon Nucleus Titan is not yet available for purchase, but the company says Titan will go on sale in the USA for $3,699. Buyers can choose one of three shell material options: metal, stone, and wood.
A new brain behind the Roon experience
Roon servers are the core of the Roon experience and the best way to enjoy the Roon music player server software. The platform allows audiophiles to enjoy their music libraries and music streaming apps on almost any audio device, all through a playback engine designed to offer the best possible sound.
The platform supports all popular formats and sample rates, and provides bit-perfect audio rendering. It also boasts a Signal Path feature that lets audiophiles see the path their audio takes from the source to the audio device.
Roon supports over a thousand audio devices and services like AirPlay and Chromecast, and they can all be controlled through the Roon app. The platform can seamlessly integrate high-resolution artist photos, lyrics, reviews, and information about tour dates into the user’s libraries.
Harman International, a Samsung subsidiary, acquired Roon in November 2023. However, Roon continues to operate as a standalone business.
