La motomami is here! Rosalía opened the Latin Grammys‘ first-ever ceremony in Spain with an orchestra-backed performance of Spanish legend Rocío Jurado’s “Se Nos Rompió el Amor.”

Sporting a strapless black dress, the singer opened the awards show with an emotion-filled, flamenco rendition of the 1985 Spanish classic.

Rosalía is nominated for a sole award this year, Record of the Year, for “Despechá,” against tracks by the likes of Christina Aguilera, Bizarrap and Shakira, Karol G, and Maluma and Marc Anthony are among the artists facing off with the Spanish singer for the award.

Rosalía took home the award for Album of the Year, Best Engineered Album, Best Recording Package, and Best Alternative Music Album last year. She also performed a medley of Motomami tracks, including “Hentai,” “La Fama” and “Despechá,” at the awards show last year.

In 2020, Rosalía tied for the most-awarded winner after taking home two trophies for her song with Ozuna, “Y x Ti, Tu x Mi,” which won for Best Urban Fusion/Performance, Best Urban Song, and a trophy in the Best Music Video category for “TKN” with Travis Scott.

After wrapping her Motomami Tour, Rosalía released several singles this year, including “LLYLM” in January, her RR EP with ex-partner Rauw Alejandro, and “Tuya,” which she released in June. She also joined Björk for “Oral,” a track whose proceeds fight fish farming in her native Iceland.
