Royal Enfield has a slew of very exciting motorcycles lined up for India, and the world. The first of these – the Hunter 350 – was launched a couple of weeks ago, and there’s more coming. The Himalayan 450 will be a brand new adventure motorcycle that Royal Enfield will soon launch in India, and the motorcycle was spied testing on Indian roads, alongside the Super Meteor 650 cruiser. Both motorcycles seem to be in a high state of production readiness. The video lined up below shows both motorcycles being ridden at triple digit speeds.
Himalayan 450
The Himalayan 450 is a brand new adventure motorcycle built ground up, and will be totally different from the Himalayan 411. Upside down front forks, a liquid cooled engine, 6 speed gearbox with slip-assist clutch, 40 Bhp-40 Nm outputs, a new frame and design are some of the key new aspects of the Himalayan 450. Many of these features like the liquid cooled engine and the upside down front forks are a first on any Royal Enfield.

The motorcycle will have a city-focused sibling in the form of the Scram 450, which has also been spotted testing on Indian roads. Given the upgraded equipment on the Himalayan 450 and Scram 450 model, expect both bikes to be pricier than the current-gen Himalayan and Scram 411. The new motorcycles will sit on Royal Enfield’s K1 platform, and will rival the likes of the KTM Adventure 390, the BMW G 310 GS, and the upcoming Hero XPulse 400.
Super Meteor 650
The Super Meteor is a cruiser that’s based on the Royal Enfield 650 twin platform, which already has the Interceptor and Continental GT 650. While the Super Meteor will use the same 650cc, parallel twin air-oil cooled four stroke engine that’s also found on the Interceptor and Continental GT, the design will be a lot more relaxed to suit its cruiser motorcycle positioning.
As for cycle parts, the Super Meteor 650 will get upside down front forks, twin rear shock absorbers, disc brakes on both wheels with dual channel ABS, alloy wheels, tubeless tyres, kicked out front foot pegs and wider handlebars. The Tripper navigation pod is expected to make an appearance. The Super Meteor 650 is likely to be the new flagship motorcycle in Royal Enfield’s line up. This also means pricing that’s slightly higher than the Interceptor and Continental GT650

Mid-size motorcycles – with engine capacities ranging between 350-800cc – are accessible (easy to ride and fun while not being overwhelmingly powerful), affordable and also fuel efficient. Both the Himalayan 450 and Super Meteor 650 will fit into this definition. While higher capacity motorcycles are being developed, they’re still a few years away from launch.
