Ryan Gosling will bring his Kenergy to the 2024 Oscars ceremony.

After months of speculation over whether the actor would take the stage to perform the Oscar-nominated song “I’m Just Ken” at the awards ceremony, Variety reports that Gosling is officially set to perform. The Academy has yet to comment.

The Barbie track, written and produced by Mark Ronson, is nominated for Best Original Song. Gosling is also up for a Best Supporting Actor award for his role in the film.

While it is a tradition for all of the Best Original Song nominees to be performed live at the Academy Awards, the original performers are not always the ones to do so at the ceremony, leaving Gosling’s participating up in the air.

Earlier this month, Gosling told Variety that he was “open” to performing at the awards show but had not yet been asked. “It might be too much of a risk to have me do it,” he said. “I don’t know how that would work. But I’m open to it.”

“I’m Just Ken” landed on Billboard Hot 100 in its first week at No. 87, marking Gosling’s first appearance on the Hot 100. Earlier this year, Warner Bros. shared a behind-the-scenes video clip from the making of the song, which shows the actor undergoing the most unserious transformation of his career while director Greta Gerwig watches along starry-eyed.

Ronson recently sat down with Rolling Stone to break down the making of the track, saying Gerwig told him, “I need the most maximalist thing you’ve ever written.”
