Salman Khan spotted with his new bulletproof Toyota Land Cruiser
Last week, a Bollywood veteran actor was spotted in the bulletproof Land Cruiser for the first time. The actor has been spotted on multiple occasions now and it looks like he is not going to choose any other vehicle to travel, at least in the coming few months. Salman Khan and his father received several threats. Following the threats, Salman upgraded to a bulletproof car and also received a license to keep personal ammunition.
While Toyota has already launched the all-new Land Cruiser LC300 in the international markets, it is yet to reach the Indian market officially. The new bulletproof Land Cruiser of Salman Khan is also from the previous generation. Interestingly, Toyota officially does not sell armoured vehicles unlike many other German manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi. For a car like Toyota Land Cruiser, the armouring has to be done aftermarket.

There are several reputed armouring garages around the world. Even Mahindra Armoured Vehicles offers aftermarket armouring services depending on the customer’s need. There are several levels of armouring available for such aftermarket jobs. This is why we cannot tell you about the protection level of such vehicles. OEM armour vehicles offer factory-rated protection levels like VR8 and VR9.
However, such jobs are done to make sure that the onlookers do not get to know that the vehicle is armoured. But if you look closely at the windows, the thick borders give away the fact that they are sealed and bulletproof.
Such aftermarket armoured vehicles do suffer from power loss though. Since the armour and the bulletproof glasses add hundreds of kilos to the weight, the stock engine sure feels sluggish.
