Samsung Developer Conference 2022 will happen on October 12 with a focus on SmartThings

Samsung has announced the date for its next developer conference. The company’s annual developer conference, SDC (Samsung Developer Conference), will happen on October 12, 2022. The event will be held offline and online, and the company is inviting developers to Moscone North in San Francisco in the US, where the event is happening.

The South Korean firm said that its annual conference would mostly revolve around the SmartThings smart home platform. The company will showcase its vision for the future and showcase improvements it made in its software, services, and platforms during the event. It will display its ‘Calm Technology’ where multiple smart products can communicate with each other seamlessly for an enhanced user experience.

Samsung will explain newer features and technologies it is bringing to One UI, Tizen, Bixby, SmartThings, Matter, and Samsung Wallet. Matter is a new smart home standard that is being co-developed by Amazon, Apple, Google, Samsung, and others. It makes multiple smart home platforms compatible with other platforms. For instance, you would be able to control your SmartThings smart light with the Apple HomeKit app. Apart from the keynote announcements, Samsung will hold breakout events where developers can connect with Samsung engineers to understand new and existing features.

Jong-Hee Han, Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman and CEO and Head of Device eXperience (DX) Division, will open the keynote and will be joined by other Samsung executives listed below.
