Samsung Galaxy A33 gets Android 14 (One UI 6.0) in more countries

The Galaxy A33 was among the first few mid-range Samsung phones to get the Android 14 update. However, the rollout was limited to a few countries (mostly European ones) back then. The Android 14 update is now available more widely for the Galaxy A33 (in Asian and European countries).

The Android 14 update for the Galaxy A33 is now available in Asia and Europe with firmware version A336BXXU7DWL1. The update is now available in Germany, Kazakhstan, Russia, South Korea, the Caucasus region, and Ukraine. The new software update still includes the November 2023 security patch instead of the January 2024 security patch.

If you have a Galaxy A33 and live in any of the countries mentioned above, you can check for the new update by opening the Settings app and navigating to Software update » Download and install. You can also download the new firmware file from our database and flash it manually. You would need a computer running the Windows operating system and the Odin tool for the manual firmware flashing process.

Samsung launched the Galaxy A33 in early 2022 with Android 12 onboard. The mid-range phone received the Android 13 update in late 2022 and is now running Android 14. As per Samsung’s promise, it will get two more Android OS updates (up to Android 16).

Samsung has introduced several new features and design improvements with the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update. There is a brand-new Quick Panel layout, a new default font, two new widgets (Custom Camera and Weather Insight), and a new media player widget for the notifications and lock screen areas.

The built-in Camera app now has a simpler design, and the stock Gallery app offers quick image editing suggestions. The built-in Photo Editor now has bigger controls for editing images. The built-in Video Editor is now named Samsung Studio and supports drafts. The company has removed the term ‘Samsung’ from the app labels for stock apps.
