Samsung Galaxy A55 launch to happen later than expected

0 31

Although all eyes are on Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphone series, the Galaxy S24, the company is also preparing to launch several mid-range smartphones this year. The Galaxy A15 5G and the Galaxy A25 5G were launched a few days ago, and the Galaxy A55 is expected to launch soon. After the first set of images of the Galaxy A55 were leaked yesterday, many believe that the device will be launched within the next few weeks, but that might not happen.

Galaxy A55 launch time frame

The Galaxy A55, featuring Samsung’s ‘Key Island’ design language, was leaked yesterday. The press renders of the smartphone seem accurate, at least according to our reliable sources. So, some people might expect that Samsung will launch the Galaxy A55 soon after it unveils the Galaxy S24. However, that won’t be the case. Samsung is planning to announce the Galaxy A55 sometime in early Q2 2024. This is a few months later than Samsung’s usual launch timeframe for Galaxy A5x series mid-range smartphones.

Samsung might also announce the Galaxy A35 alongside the Galaxy A55 around the same time frame. It isn’t clear if the company is bringing back the Galaxy A7x series smartphone after it skipped launching the Galaxy A74 last year.

Galaxy A55 features and specs

Samsung appears to be using a metal frame for the Galaxy A55, an upgrade compared to the Galaxy A54. The upcoming mid-range smartphone has three cameras on the rear, but it might still miss out on a telephoto camera, similar to most other mid-range smartphones. It will reportedly feature a 50MP primary camera with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and likely a macro camera. It likely has a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging support.

As per several reports, the Galaxy A55 will use the 4nm Exynos 1480 processor, featuring four high-performance CPU cores clocked at 2.75GHz and four power-efficient CPU cores clocked at 2.05GHz. It also features the AMD RDNA2-based Xclipse 530 GPU, which might not feature features like raytracing. Since the phone doesn’t seem to have a side-mounted fingerprint reader, we can expect the Galaxy A55 to feature an in-display fingerprint reader.
