Samsung teased its first ring-shaped fitness and health tracker last week at the Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event. The company showcased the Galaxy Ring’s design and said it’s coming soon. The company didn’t reveal much, including its features, price, and availability. It managed to keep the Galaxy Ring a well-guarded secret.

Galaxy Ring comes in three finishes and will launch later this year

Now, a new report claims to spill the beans about the Galaxy Ring. According to Avi Greengart, a tech analyst who earlier worked for Intel and JupiterResearch, the Galaxy Ring is incredibly lightweight. He claims that he got hands-on experience with the product and says that it will come in three finishes (or colors?). The wearable device reportedly comes in several sizes (up to 13) and will be launched later this year.

From the images, it looks like it will have a heart rate monitor and pogo pins (for charging) on the inside. Separately, Samsung MX head TM Roh said that some people don’t like wearing bulky smartwatches to their sleep, so a device like the Galaxy Ring is more comfortable and convenient for such users. It will likely feature heart rate/SpO2 monitoring, sleep tracking, and workout tracking, and it will most likely sync data with Samsung Health.

It is possible that the Galaxy Ring could work alongside the Galaxy Watch to offer more accurate health, sleep, and workout tracking. Oura Ring is the most popular health-tracking ring as of now, and Samsung is the first big tech brand to showcase its ring-shaped fitness-tracking device.
