Samsung Galaxy S20 gets February 2024 security update in the US
Samsung has released the February 2024 security update to the Galaxy S20 series. The update is available to carrier-locked units of the phones in the US. Other variants of the phones will also get the update soon. The Galaxy S20 series will get the same update in other countries as well.
Carrier-locked Galaxy S20 gets February 2024 security update
The new software update for the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra is now available in the US for carrier-locked units. The update arrives with firmware version G98xUSQS8HWK1 and is relatively smaller in size. It includes the February 2024 security patch that fixes 72 security vulnerabilities found in the previous version of the software. The update doesn’t bring any new features or performance enhancements.
If you have a Galaxy S20 series phone in the US and if it is a carrier-locked model, you can now check for the new update on your device. To do that, you have to open the Settings app on your device, navigate to Software update, and tap Download and install. Alternatively, you can flash the new firmware manually after downloading the firmware file from our database.
Samsung launched the Galaxy S20 series in early 2020 with Android 10 onboard. The phone received the Android 11 update in late 2020, the Android 12 update in late 2021, and the Android 13 update in late 2022. The phone isn’t eligible to get the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update.
