Galaxy S22 June 2023 security update: What’s new and how to install?

The carrier-locked models of devices in the Galaxy S22 lineup are getting the new security update with firmware version S90xUSQU2CWE7. This update is available to the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra on Dish Wireless, Metro PCS, and T-Mobile networks. The unlocked models of the devices are getting the update that bumps up the firmware version to S90xU1UEU2CWE8.

The June 2023 security patch that is included in the new software update fixes over 60 security flaws found in Galaxy smartphones and tablets. The update doesn’t bring any new features or performance enhancements, at least going by Samsung’s official changelog.

If you have a Galaxy S22 series phone and live in the US, you can check for the new update by navigating to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install. You can also choose the manual firmware flashing process. For it to work, you need to download the appropriate firmware file from our firmware database and flash it using Odin.
