OEMs are known to paste their devices with a lot of adhesives to hold everything in place. But that glue is bad for anyone repairing the phone as they have to use various tools to ensure nothing gets damaged during the repair process. With the Galaxy S23 Ultra, Samsung has made the process simpler.
The Galaxy S23 Ultra’s 5,000 mAh battery can be easily removed without any prying tools
Now, all you need to do is remove the rear glass assembly, wireless charging coil, screws, and ribbon cables, to access the 5,000 mAh battery. Zach of the JerryRigEverything YouTube channel noted that even non-professionals could remove the battery of the Galaxy S23 Ultra with ease. Removing the fourteen screws on the back brings you to the wireless charging coil, which Zach nearly damaged.
Removing the coil reveals the removable 5,000 mAh battery. In the words of Zach in the video, “after 8 long years, Samsung has finally ran out of glue, or maybe they are taking repairability seriously.” Now the battery can easily be replaced by anyone without relying much on precision tools or alcohol.
