Samsung Health to get Medications tracking feature
Samsung has announced a new feature called Medications for Samsung Health. It helps Galaxy smartphone and smartwatch users manage their health and medications in a better way. Users can keep track of their prescription and over-the-counter medicines and get reminders to take pills on time.
The Medications feature on Samsung Health will be available on smartphones and smartwatches. When a user enters the name of a medication, the app will provide detailed information (via data licensed from Elsevier) about it, along with the possible side effects. Adverse reactions can happen sometimes, and people can be more aware of possible reactions.
Users can set the color and shape of a medication to differentiate between different pills. Moreover, Samsung Health can prioritize medication notifications based on their importance. It can send gentle (pop-ups) or strong (full-screen alert) notifications, depending on how necessary a particular medication is.
The feature goes live in the US later this week
As usual, the feature works best when a Galaxy smartphone is paired with a Galaxy Watch. Samsung Health already offers a wide range of health and fitness-related features, and with the addition of the Medications feature, people can stay relaxed and let the app track their physical and mental health. The Medications app will be available in the US later this week. It will be available on phones running Samsung Health (version 6.26).
