What’s the issue?
Users are reporting that the screen vibrancy for the Galaxy S24 is far below what it should be. In the display settings, people have the choice between the vivid mode and natural screen mode. Natural mode gives us more muted and true-to-life colors, while the vivid mode gives us more punchy and saturated colors.
However, people are noting that the saturation difference between the vivid and natural modes is non-existent. This is something that we’ve experienced here at Android Headlines as well. Switching between the modes slightly changes the color temperature, but it does not increase the color saturation. This is a major bummer for people who get Samsung phones for their superior displays.
Some folks speculated that this is because of the new Corning Gorilla Glass Armor that Samsung showed off during Unpacked. However, only the Galaxy S24 Ultra (Review) got this glass; the color vibrancy issue affects all three variants of the phone. So, fortunately, this is a software-based issue that can be patched up with an update.

Thanks to a new screenshot posted, the company acknowledged the issue, and it stated that it is currently working on a fix for it.
In the screenshot, we see a chat conversation between a user and a Samsung support agent. The agent says that this coming software update will fix the issue. So, it appears that the fix will come with the February security patch. However, that has yet to be officially confirmed. In any case, it’s good to know that the issue is being resolved and that we can expect it to land soon
