Samsung needs to fix animations before releasing One UI 5.0 stable update

0 61

Samsung is among the first smartphone brands to release multiple Android 13 beta updates. The Galaxy S21 and the Galaxy S22 series have received the One UI 5.0 beta update. While the company has not changed the UI design significantly, the new version of One UI comes with dozens of new and improved features. However, animations and transitions still need a lot of improvement.

Yes, we know that it’s a beta update, and it is bound to have issues. However, the second beta version of One UI 5.0 seems to have worsened things. Animations in One UI 4.1.1 and even the first One UI 5.0 beta update were faster and smoother. Tipster Ice Universe (@UniverseIce) published slow-motion videos that show the animation performance of One UI 5.0 and compared it to older versions of One UI, OPPO’s ColorOS 13, Xiaomi’s MIUI 13, and Vivo’s OriginOS.

In comparison, One UI 5.0 animations look janky and laggy. Before releasing the second One UI 5.0 beta update, it was revealed that Samsung is working on improving the performance of animations. However, it doesn’t look like the company’s plans have come to fruition. The South Korean firm must ensure that it fixes those issues before releasing the stable One UI 5.0 update to its phones and tablets.
