We had the chance to see Samsung’s largest curved monitor, the Odyssey Ark, live in January at CES 2022. We haven’t seen much of it since, but Samsung is reportedly readying this impressive new piece of technology for the market.

The Odyssey Ark was said to go on sale in the second half of 2022. A new report is narrowing that timeframe and claims that the Odyssey Ark will hit the shelves in August. (via ETNews)

As a bonus, Samsung’s 55-inch curved monitor was spotted at the Korean Radio Research Agency and the Energy Agency in recent weeks, signaling that the company is preparing the product for release.

A quick refresh on the Odyssey Ark gaming monitor

Samsung’s Odyssey Ark has a 1000R curve radius and a 16:9 aspect ratio. It can be used in landscape and portrait modes and supports technologies like FreeSync and G-Sync.

The screen boasts a 4K UHD resolution and an active refresh rate of 165Hz. The exact refresh rate specifications remain subject to change, as per Samsung at CES. Nevertheless, the display should be able to achieve a response time of 1ms (gray-to-gray).

Pricing details remain unknown, but if you want to see the Odyssey Ark live in action, you can check out our video from CES 2022 below.

The Odyssey Ark appears to be targeted primarily at the gaming market. For content creators, Samsung recently announced the ViewFinity S8 in 27-inch and 32-inch sizes and explained why it’s great for graphic designers, content creators, and professionals.
