Samsung One UI 6.1 update: Eligible Galaxy phones and tablets

0 37

Samsung will be updating many Galaxy phones and tablets with Android 14 and One UI 6 in 2023, and it won’t have any time for rest come 2024 as the Galaxy S24 series will launch in mid-January with a newer version of One UI 6 — One UI 6.1 — on-board that Samsung will bring to existing Galaxy devices.

A lot of Galaxy phones are eligible for Android 14 and One UI 6.0, but what about One UI 6.1? Which Samsung phones and tablets will get One UI 6.1, and which devices will miss out on it and stay on One UI 6.0 forever?

If your Galaxy phone is eligible for Android 14, expect to get One UI 6.1

Since One UI 6.1 won’t arrive this year, it will be a while before we get an official list of eligible devices. But if history is any guide, almost every Galaxy phone or tablet that is eligible for Android 14 and One UI 6.0 will also be eligible for One UI 6.1. If Android 14 is the last major Android OS upgrade for your device, you can expect it to get One UI 6.1 as the final One UI update.

Below you can find a list of the phones and tablets that are likely to get One UI 6.1.

Galaxy S series

Galaxy Z series

Galaxy A series

Galaxy M series

Galaxy F series

Galaxy Xcover series

Galaxy Tab series

Keep in mind that the list above is tentative and could change in the future. We will keep updating it as more information comes to light, so be sure to bookmark this page so you can check back later.

When will the One UI 6.1 update be released?

The Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra will be the first Samsung devices to come with One UI 6.1, and the company will likely start bringing it to other phones sometime in February. Some devices may even directly get One UI 6.1 with the Android 14 update, but that is just speculation for now.

Will you be able to test One UI 6.1 before its official rollout?

Samsung holds a beta program each year for major new Android and One UI upgrades but rarely does it for minor One UI updates. However, Samsung allowed some users to test One UI 5.1.1 before its official release even though version 5.1.1 was mostly limited to the company’s foldable phones and tablets, so we can’t rule out the possibility of getting a One UI 6.1 beta program.

One UI 6.1 features could include AI-based functionality

One UI 6.1 will bring some new features like every other One UI version update, but what those new features could be is anyone’s guess. Samsung is putting a heavy focus on AI for the Galaxy S24 lineup, and it’s possible One UI 6.1 will bring some of those AI features to other smartphones. For flagship phones like the Galaxy S23 or the Galaxy Z Fold 5, One UI 6.1 will probably bring some of the new camera features that will make their debut on the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra.
