Samsung ships most of its phones and tablets with Samsung Pass, a feature that lets users save login credentials, like passwords, for apps and websites. It’s a decently feature-rich password manager, and most importantly, it is free and has cloud synchronization features. Some people are facing issues with it, though.

Samsung Pass issue cropping up for some Galaxy users

Some users have claimed that Samsung Pass isn’t working on their Galaxy phones. A user posted on Reddit that the fingerprint authentication pop-up menu fails to appear whenever they try to access Samsung Pass. Instead of displaying a fingerprint authentication pop-up, the app displays a completely black screen, so users can’t place their finger on it for authentication.

Many other Reddit users have confirmed that the same issue appears on their Galaxy phones. This Samsung Pass bug doesn’t look like it is related to a particular device, and many Galaxy devices (including Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S23+) are facing the issue. We haven’t been able to replicate this bug on our Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Ultra, and Galaxy S24, so it could be restricted to some users. Restarting the phone did the trick for some users, and the app started working normally.

This isn’t the first time Samsung Pass is facing issues. Over the past couple of years, several users have reported that Samsung Pass can’t verify their fingerprints or is stuck on the loading screen while logging into Samsung Pass when they set up a new phone.
