Samsung R&D Institute India wins big at NASSCOM GCC Awards 2023

Samsung’s largest software R&D center outside of South Korea, Samsung R&D Institute India, has won a big accolade at the NASSCOM GCC Awards 2023. According to the official blog, the Samsung R&D Institute India has won the ‘Innovation with Impact 2023’ award for creating global business impact and emerged as a role model.

The ‘Innovation with Impact’ award basically recognizes GCCs (Global Capability Centers) that integrate innovation into their DNA. These GCCs are able to identify business needs and provide solutions that lead to sustainable and quantifiable impact with a high degree of ownership and accountability.

The Samsung R&D Institute India in Bangalore has demonstrated leadership qualities in the fields of Advanced Communication, Cameras, IoT, and Artificial Intelligence, creating a larger global impact. This includes the development of the Zigbee & Matter Thread One Chip Solution, which brings single radio chip support to multiple communication technologies, and the development of the popular Nightography camera feature in the Galaxy S23 series.

SRI-B has also proven their research might for Samsung’s digital payment solution, Samsung Wallet, and One UI’s popular Smart Suggestions and Digital Wellbeing features, integrating the power of AI to improve the user’s customizations and recommendations. SRI-B also has the highest count of patent filings in India, with over 7,500 patents in the country and across the globe.

Mohan Rao Goli, Chief Technology Officer at SRI-B, on receiving the ‘Innovation with Impact 2023’ award at the NASSCOM GCC Awards 2023, said, “We foster a culture of continuous learning and collaboration, forging partnerships with academia and startups to leverage the collective wisdom of India’s innovation ecosystem.
