The oddly-named Galaxy A12 Nacho is getting another major firmware update. As you might recall, the phone got Android 13 and One UI 5.0 out of nowhere in December. Now, Samsung is bringing One UI 5.1 to the Nacho as what probably will be its last major update.

The new Galaxy A12 Nacho update carries firmware version A127FZHU8DWC3 and includes the March 2023 security patch. The Nacho runs a “Core” version of One UI, so the new 5.1 update isn’t as featureful as One UI 5.1 for higher-end phones.

Galaxy A12 Nacho gets Gallery improvements and more

Samsung’s official changelog mentions more powerful Gallery search and the revamped info display in the Gallery app, as well as the addition of the “Effects” button for selfies.

The changelog also mentions multitasking improvements for pop-up view and multi-window, improved Modes and Routines with activity-based wallpapers, the updated Weather app and the new dynamic Weather widget, and improved Samsung Internet search.

Finally, the changelog also mentions the new battery widget, settings suggestions, and the new option wherein users can choose where screenshots are saved.

Unless Samsung releases One UI 5.1.1 later this year and decides to bless the Galaxy A12 Nacho with that update, this ongoing One UI 5.1 release might be the phone’s last.

As of this writing, it looks like One UI 5.1 is available for the Galaxy A12 Nacho only in a couple of markets, including Hong Kong and Russia. Samsung should expand the update’s availability to more markets soon.

Where the update is rolling out, Galaxy A12 Nacho users should be able to install it by opening the Settings app on their phones, accessing “Software update,” and tapping “Download and install.” Users who prefer manual updates over a PC can download the official firmware files from our website.
