Samsung The Link announced as world’s thinnest and lightest 4K monitor
Samsung announced several new monitors at CES 2024, including the new Smart Monitor M8 and new QD-OLED monitors in various sizes. It also showcased an exciting monitor called The Link, designed with aesthetics and compactness in mind. Samsung released just one photo of that monitor in action.
Samsung’s The Link is the world’s thinnest and lightest 4K monitor
According to Samsung, The Link is the world’s thinnest and lightest 4K 32-inch LED monitor, and it appears so looking at its image. It is also amongst the world’s cleanest-looking monitors, featuring a flat back plate with only three ports: HDMI, power, and USB Type-C port. It also features a 100 x 100 VESA mount on the rear. The monitor has already received a CES 2024 Best of Innovation award.
It lacks a standard stand design that we usually see on other monitors. The Link features a stand that is as wide as the monitor and has a T-shaped metal base when you look at it from any side. It can daisy-chain with other The Link monitors without separate cables. There could be pogo pins on the monitor through which it connects with other monitors. Samsung says you can “connect as many monitors as you need to get your perfect setup.” Since the monitor features extremely thin bezels, a multi-monitor setup with The Link won’t have uneven or mismatched seams.
TheLink also features built-in speakers, according to Samsung’s press material. Four control buttons are on the front of the monitor (on the bezel below the screen). The whole design is undoubtedly fresh and exciting, unlike anything else we’ve ever seen, but we need to wait a few weeks more before Samsung releases more information about this monitor. No price or release date is available as of now.

Author’s Note: Samsung’s The Link appears just a concept as of now, and the single image showcased by Samsung to the press also seems to be a render. The idea is certainly interesting: build a very thin monitor with an easy setup process if the user wants to create a multi-monitor setup. However, it remains to be seen how much Samsung will change it by the time it is actually launched (if it is ever launched).
