A couple of weeks ago, Samsung announced its plans to bring Samsung Wallet to thirteen new countries in 2022. That plan is underway, and today, Samsung introduced its Wallet platform to Switzerland. The tech giant also says it wants to gradually expand the wallet’s list of partners in the country to offer more services to its customers.

Since the middle of 2022, Samsung Wallet merged with Samsung Pay and Samsung Pass to offer mobile payment solutions, easy and secure biometric authentication across multiple apps, digital car key functionality, and a place for customers to store membership cards and coupons/vouchers all in one place.

As expected, Samsung Wallet customers in Switzerland get access to all of these elements, including Samsung Pay and Pass. The Wallet app is backed by the Samsung Knox security platform and allows for fast and secure mobile payments. Personal data, including payment methods and passwords, is stored on the user’s smartphone through Knox.

When is Samsung Wallet coming to customers in Switzerland?

Samsung Wallet is coming to Switzerland today; however, the company will release the app in stages “to enable a smooth update of Samsung Pay and Samsung Pass.”

Samsung Wallet will become available to more customers in Switzerland every day. The company will select more users at random. So, if you don’t have access to Samsung Wallet yet, you should soon. Furthermore, until the Wallet app becomes available for you, you can continue using Samsung Pay and Samsung Pass separately.

Samsung claims that it plans to “add more features to Samsung Wallet together with our partners in the future in order to be able to offer users easy and secure access to technologies,” however, it did not elaborate.

As of now, the digital car keys feature is available for a variety of BMW models. In addition, the ticketing function is only available for Korean Air, but this is equally true for Wallet customers in South Korea, the USA, the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain.
