0 34

The Galaxy A73 5G is the latest Samsung smartphone to receive the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 stable update. It joins over a dozen other models in the party, including the Galaxy A53 5G and Galaxy A33 5G. These three mid-rangers were unveiled together earlier this year.

Samsung has begun the Android 13 rollout for the Galaxy A73 5G in Malaysia. Users in the Asian country are receiving the big update with firmware version A736BXXU2BVK2 (via). A wider rollout should follow in the coming days. The handset is gaining the October security patch with this release, which patches about 50 vulnerabilities. While that isn’t the latest available, we are more interested in Android 13 and One UI 5.0 side of things. That is what matters more here.

The latest iteration of Samsung’s custom Android software has a lot to look forward to. The company has added more customization tools to let you bring your phone closer to you. You can now change your wallpaper and lockscreen directly from the lockscreen. The Color Palette feature has been improved to better implement wallpaper colors to system UI menus. The UI itself gets a minor redesign with bolder app icons and a reorganized notifications panel and settings menus. System animations have been improved too. Privacy and security features get improvements as well.

Samsung has also added several new features to its Galaxy devices with the release of Android 13. We have OCR (optical character recognition) to quickly extract text from images stored in the gallery or directly from the camera viewfinder. Samsung Keyboard gets a few notable improvements and so do other stock Samsung apps. We also have new photography and videography features, as well as new editing features. Last but not least, the Korean behemoth has improved Bixby Routines and AR Emoji and added support for new gestures to enable more efficient multitasking.

The list will continue to grow in the coming days and weeks. We will keep you posted with all those updates as and when they arrive.
