Samsung’s latest infographic details the history of its wearables up to the Galaxy Ring

0 28

To celebrate the Galaxy Ring having been showcased at MWC in Barcelona last week (albeit behind glass), Samsung has created a new infographic that takes us through the entire history of its wearable devices, up to and including the Galaxy Ring itself.

As you can see, Samsung’s wearable journey started all the way back in 1999 with the SPH-WP10, the world’s first commercialized watch phone. The SPH-S100 that came one year after added text entry and voice dialing features, while 2003’s Watch Phone had a color OLED display.

Samsung didn’t get into Bluetooth headsets until 2005, and it has continued to refine its wrist-worn wearables in the past two and a half decades. The Galaxy Watch6 series is the culmination of all those efforts, along with the Galaxy Fit3 on the more affordable side, and in terms of earbuds, the Galaxy Buds2 Pro are the reigning champs for the Korean company so far.

The Galaxy Ring has widely been rumored to get fully official at Samsung’s next Unpacked event, which may be taking place in early to mid-July in Paris. That’s also where the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 will be unveiled.
