Samsung’s first-ever QD-OLED TV was announced at CES 2022, and it was available in 55-inch and 65-inch sizes. At the ongoing CES 2023 expo, Samsung announced its second-generation QD-OLED TV, which comes in three sizes: 55 inches, 65 inches, and 77 inches. It also brings improved colors and much higher peak brightness.

S95C is Samsung’s first OLED TV with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro certification

The Samsung S95C, which is the company’s latest OLED TV, uses a QD-OLED panel from Samsung Display that was announced yesterday. It features a 4K QD-OLED screen with up to a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and up to 2,000 nits peak brightness. The South Korean firm is using the new HyperEfficient EL material (applied to the blue light emitting layer) and IntelliSense AI to improve the panel’s brightness. For the first time, the company’s QD-OLED TV features AMD’s FreeSync Premium Pro certification for tear-free gaming via PCs or gaming consoles.

The new version of the Tizen OS brings improved software features to the S95C. It features Samsung Gaming Hub, which lets you play games from the cloud through Amazon Luna, Microsoft Xbox Cloud, Nvidia GeForce Now, and Utomik at up to 4K resolution. Other gaming features include Game Bar 3.0 with the ability to display the minimap of the game on any display and Virtual Aim Point for crosshair visual enhancement in FPS (First Person Shooting) games.

It has eight built-in speakers for a total output of 60W RMS. It also features Dolby Atmos and Object Sound Tracking+. Other software features include AI Sound Remastering, Alexa, Bixby, Dolby Atmos, Object Sound Tracking+, Q-Symphony (2023 version), and Samsung Health. All new Samsung smart TVs feature a built-in controller for Matter, SmartThings, and ZigBee. The 3D Map View shows all smart devices in your home in a neat map view. The TV is extremely slim, at 11mm (top to bottom).

Samsung hasn’t announced the pricing or launch date for the S95C, but we expect it to launch in the next few weeks in all the important markets, including Canada, Europe, South Korea, and the US.
