San Bernardino County authorities have located Jin Chung, a 75-year-old hiker from North Hollywood who went missing while trekking Mt. Baldy over the weekend.

On Tuesday afternoon, rescue crews located the missing hiker,  who was transported to a local hospital after he suffered a leg injury and some additional weather-related injuries.

Chung had last been seen around 6 a.m. Sunday after splitting from his group to hike alone, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. Chung apparently had agreed with his friends to regroup at their vehicle around 2 p.m. but never returned.

The ground search for Chung led authorities to areas previously searched in an effort to locate British actor Julian Sands, 65, who was reported missing in the Baldy Bowl area on Jan. 13.

“Our heartfelt thanks to the compassionate members of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department who are coordinating the search for our beloved Julian,” Sands’ family said in a statement on Monday. “Not least the heroic search teams… who are braving difficult conditions on the ground and in the air to bring Julian home.”

Authorities were using helicopters and drones fitted with infrared devices over the weekend, however, there have been no signs on Sands. The San Bernadino Sheriff said the search for Sands will continue if weather and grounds conditions allow it.
