Miquella is back. From Software and Bandai Namco just released the official gameplay trailer for the upcoming Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree and it looks exactly like I hoped it would. More epic boss battles, new weapons to find and learn, and lots of dying. You know, more Elden Ring. Shadow of the Erdtree is set to release on June 21, 2024, and is even getting its own collector’s edition that looks pretty epic.

Shadow of the Erdtree

In Shadow of the Erdtree players will follow in the footsteps of Miquella, an Empyrean and brother to probably the most epic encounter in Elden Ring, Malenia. Along the way, we’ll confront new bosses and acquire new weapons and armor. There’s a lot to unpack from the roughly three-minute trailer, but I’ll say this: a lot of the new weapons look like a lot of fun.

Shadow of the Erdtree will launch with a handful of physical and digital editions.

Those who already have the base game can pick up just the Shadow of the ErdtreeDLC for $39.99. However, for those without a copy of Elden Ring, a new Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Edition includes both the base game and the new expansion.

For those wanting some extra goodies, a Premium Edition is available for both aforementioned editions that add a digital art book and digital soundtrack.

There’s also a limited quantity Collector’s Edition featuring a 46cm statue of “Messmer the Impaler”, a 40-page physical art book, and the digital soundtrack. It also includes a voucher code for the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion on the platform of your choice.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree releases globally on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on June 21, 2024.
