Should you give the boy 1000G for The Ornate Box?
One of the first side quests you will encounter in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a boy in Vernworth looking for 1,000G so he can purchase a green Ornate Box from a merchant. But should you give the boy the 1,000G he needs for The Ornate Box? Here’s what you get for doing this quest.
Should you give the boy 1000G to buy The Ornate Box?
If you want some extra backstory on the boy as well as completing a quest, you should give the boy the 1,000G. However, other than getting paid back the 1,000G over time, there’s no additional reward. After handing over the 1,000G, the boy will purchase The Ornate Box and then let you know he plans to pay you back over time.
After a couple of days have passed, you can return to the fountain in the center or Vernworth and find the boy, named Sven, sitting nearby. Sven is actually an important character in Dragon’s Dogma 2 as he’s the son of the current Regent. If you speak to Sven, he will pay you back some recompense for the loan you gave him for The Ornate Box, as well as tell you a bit about his unhappiness with his life serving his mother the Regent.
Simply repeat the process of waiting a few days and then returning to Sven at the fountain to get a little more of Sven’s backstory and more of the money he owes you. Just make sure you complete this quest before completing the Feast of Deception main quest for Brant, as it will discontinue The Ornate Box quest regardless of your progress on it.
All Sven recompense rewards for The Ornate Box quest
Each time you speak to Sven, he will pay you back a little bit of what he owes you for loaning him the money for The Ornate Box. Here’s what Sven will repay you each time:
- First Encounter: 200 G
- Second Encounter: 300 G
- Third Encounter: 500 G
When it’s all said and done, Sven will have paid you back a total of 1,000G, the amount he originally borrowed from you for The Ornate Box. This will complete the quest, and there are no further rewards to be obtained. However, you will encounter Sven later, so his story isn’t quite finished just yet.
