Skybound unveils full lineup of Decepticons in upcoming TRANSFORMERS series

0 72

Last week Skybound Entertainment revealed the full line-up of the Autobots for the upcoming Transformers series from acclaimed writer & artist Daniel Warren Johnson as well as and colorist Mike Spicer. Much like before, this week Skybound has been teasing via social media the lineup of Decepticons who will appear in the series, and today the publisher revealed the full line-up, which will include Starscream, Rumble, Skywarp, Laserbeak, and Soundwave.

Here’s how Skybound describes the forthcoming Transformers series:

Optimus Prime was supposed to have led the Autobots to victory. Instead, the fate of Cybertron is unknown, and his allies have crash-landed far from home, alongside their enemies—the Decepticons. As these titanic forces renew their war on Earth, one thing is immediately clear: the planet will never be the same. New alliances are struck. Battle lines are redrawn. And humanity’s only hope for survival is Optimus Prime.

Notably absent from the lineup is Megatron, the leader of the Decepticons. This isn’t the first time Megatron has been excluded from the Decepticons, at least at first. In the first season of the Transfomers: Animated show, Megatron was benched for the majority of the first season until he made his grand return. Likewise, in a surprise twist the current Transformers: EarthSpark cartoon from Nickelodeon has Megatron as a good guy on the side of the Autobots. Perhaps there’s more than meets the eye to Megatron’s absence in this initial line-up and more will be revealed within the series itself.

Which Decepticon are you surprised didn’t make the initial cut? Let us know in the comments.

Transformers #1 is due out from Image and Skybound in stores and digitally on Wednesday, October 4th.
