‘Solar Opposites’ Unveils Justin Roiland’s Replacement And They’ve Already Made It Make Sense

Did anyone think that the team over at Solar Opposites would struggle with explaining away Justin Roiland’s replacement? It’s a show about aliens stuck on Earth — they’ve clearly got bigger fish to fry.

After exiting the series earlier this year due to claims of domestic violence (which have since been cleared), folks began to wonder how the heck Hulu was going to handle Roiland’s absence in the first place. After all, he created the show. More than that, Justin Roiland lent his voice to one of the story’s most crucial characters; Korvo.

Thankfully it seems a solution has been found, and during a new teaser for the show’s fourth season fans are finally able to hear K-man’s new voice — spoiler alert, it’s not what we were expecting.

That beautiful British bravado you’re hearing is none other than actor Dan Stevens (Gaslit, Beauty and the Beast), and is a total shakeup from Justin Roiland’s more sarcastic American tone. After taking a dart to the neck, Korvo’s voice is repaired by voice-fixing ray — and the rest is history.

Though frankly, coming up with an actual reason for why Korvo would sound different in the first place was probably pretty darn easy. This is the same series that shrunk a bunch of humans down and threw them into a terrarium, it can do whatever it wants to. Why? Because of, like the trailer says, science.

To quote the immortal words of Neil deGrasse Tyson; “The good thing about science is that it’s true whether or not you believe in it.” Let’s just hope that this massive change doesn’t impact the larger tone of the show, and wait patiently to watch Korvo, Yumyulack, Terry, and Jesse navigate life on our little blue planet.
