Sophie Turner Drops Child Abduction Claims In Custody Battle With Joe Jonas

0 13

In a recent development, Sophie Turner has decided to withdraw the child abduction claims she made against her estranged husband, Joe Jonas. This decision comes three months after the former couple reached what was described as an “amicable” custody agreement.

According to TMZ, attorneys representing Turner and Jonas have jointly requested a judge in their federal case in New York to dismiss Turner’s previous filing, where she alleged that the Jonas Brothers singer abducted their daughters, 3-year-old Willa and 1-year-old Delphine, amid their divorce.

Back in September, Turner, 27, had filed a lawsuit against Jonas, 34, seeking the immediate return of the children, citing wrongful removal or retention, according to court documents obtained by Page Six. In those documents, Turner claimed that Jonas began the “wrongful retention” on September 20.

Turner asserted that during Christmas 2022, they agreed to make the UK their “forever home” and started looking for schools for their eldest daughter, Willa. She further claimed that Jonas withheld their daughters’ passports, preventing them from leaving the United States.

However, Jonas denied the allegations through a statement from his representative. The representative clarified that less than 24 hours after the Christmas agreement, Turner expressed her desire to permanently take the children to the UK. Subsequently, she demanded, through the filing, that Joe hand over the children’s passports for an immediate departure.

The representative characterized the situation as an unfortunate legal disagreement about a marriage that is sadly ending. The use of terms like “abduction” was deemed misleading and a potential abuse of the legal system.
