Following a nearly five-year studio album hiatus, ODESZA returns with its fourth studio album The Last Goodbye.

The 12-track project includes the previous released single “Love Letter,” as well as guest appearances from Bettye LaVette, MARO, Låpsley, Ólafur Arnolds, Julianna Barwick, Izzy Bizu, and Charlie Houston.

“It’s an album that is centered around the power of connection,” ODESZA said in a press release. “While writing it, we began to realize just how impacted and inspired we are by the people around us. How we impart pieces of ourselves onto others and carry that influence with us onward – that we echo out through one another.”

“It’s been an awareness that we hadn’t fully grasped, and in coming to appreciate it, we wanted this project to honor our loved ones and our sense of community,” the electronic duo continued. “The Last Goodbye is about stepping back in, returning to each other in celebration. It’s meant to be a shared record: one we hope that listeners can experience together, with friends, dancing and rejoicing in that sense of interconnection after so much time apart.”

ODESZA took to Instagram on Friday to reflect on its release, while thanking “those we love” and “those we’ve lost” for their support in creating the project.

“5 years later and we’re here,” they wrote. “Without those we love, those we’ve lost and everyone in between, this album wouldn’t exist. Time may continue to move forward but the imprint of those we’ve come to know will always echo through. The Last Goodbye is a reminder that there is no last goodbye.”

Stream ODESZA’s new album now on all major platforms. Their nationwide amphitheater tour kicks off with a sold-out trio of Seattle shows July 29 through July 31.
