The eye-wateringly awful After franchise that doesn’t show any signs of ending despite consistently scathing reactions, Netflix’s hugely successful but resolutely tedious The Kissing Booth trilogy, the platform’s insanely popular Through My Window, and Prime Video’s Perfect Addiction are just a small few of the titles to have been born from similar origins, with director Domingo González matching them all in one key department.
Per FlixPatrol, My Fault has ascended to the very top of the Prime Video global viewership charts in virtually no time at all, having become the number one movie in 57 countries around the world. For whatever reason, subscribers just can’t get enough of half-hearted tales of forbidden love being played out exactly as expected by a cast of telegenic stars.
In this instance, the outlawed romance in question is that of 17 year-old Noah and her stepbrother Nick. After her mother marries a rich man and they move into his mansion, the makeshift family unit finds itself with a major problem in the offing when the step-siblings begin to fall for each other. Somewhat questionable optics, to be fair, not that it’s done a thing to dampen enthusiasm on the part of audiences.
