Sundance Film Festival 2024 has its bases covered. The 40th edition of the film festival will feature the premiere of Kristen Stewart and Steven Yeun‘s post-apocalyptic romance Love Me; Michael John Warren’s evolutionary documentary Lolla: The Story of Lollapalooza; Steven Soderbergh‘s haunted house thriller Presence; and 88 additional films, documentaries, and episodic titles.

Among the documentaries premiering at the festival are Luther: Never Too Much, following the life and legacy of Luther Vandross; DEVO, about the new wave band formed in the wake of the Kent State massacre; Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story, which contains never-before-seen home movie footage of the late film star; Eno, centering on Brian Eno‘s creative process; and more.

The U.S. Dramatic Competition segment at Sundance will offer festivalgoers the chance to catch world premieres of Esteban Arango’s Ponyboi starring River Gallo, Dylan O’Brien, and Victoria Pedretti; A Real Pain, written, directed, and produced by Jesse Eisenberg, who also stars in the film alongside Kieran Culkin; Suncoast starring Laura Linney, Woody Harrelson, and Nico Parker; and more.

Christopher Nolan is also expected to attend the festival, but not to premiere a film. On the heels of Oppenheimer, the director will be presented with the inaugural Sundance Institute Trailblazer Award. An award, the 2024 Alfred P. Sloan Feature Film Prize, has already been issued to Love Me — written and directed by Sam Zuchero and Andy Zuchero — for its outstanding depiction of science and technology in a feature film.
