Super Bowl 2024 Winner – The Hollywood Reporter

0 23

The Kansas City Chiefs are still the Super Bowl champs.

The team beat the San Francisco 49ers to win Super Bowl LVIII in overtime on Sunday with a final score of 25-22. It was only the second time in NFL history that a Super Bowl game has gone into overtime, following Super Bowl LI in 2017, when the New England Patriots beat the Atlanta Falcons.

The 2024 Super Bowl, which aired on CBS and streamed on Paramount+, took place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

Super Bowl LVIII marked the Chiefs’ fourth time in five years to reach the big game. They headed into Sunday with three franchise wins: in 1970, 2020 and last year.

The 49ers, meanwhile, have won five previous Super Bowls: in 1982, 1985, 1989, 1990 and 1995.

A slew of stars were in the audience to watch the game on Sunday, including Taylor Swift, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, Lady Gaga, Paul Rudd and LeBron James.

Commercials were selling for $7 million per half-minute spot. They featured a slew of stars, from Quinta Brunson to Ben Affleck to Beyoncé, who also dropped two new songs and announced her new country-tinged album.

It’s been speculated that this game could set a record viewership record, given the interest in Swift, who is dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and flew to Vegas Swift after performing her fourth and final Eras Tour show in Tokyo on Saturday.

The pregame entertainment featured Reba McEntire performing the National Anthem, Post Malone singing “America the Beautiful” and Andra Day performing “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” Usher hit the stage for the halftime show along with special guests including Alicia Keys, H.E.R., will.i.am, Jermaine Dupri, Lil Jon later and Ludacris.
