Sydney Sweeney, Bowen Yang Compete for Tips at Hooters

Saturday Night Live guest host Sydney Sweeney played Tina, a Hooters waitress who easily out-earned her coworkers despite spilling beer on customers and making an alcoholic relapse.

While the tips acquired for the day by other waitresses (Chloe Fineman, Sarah Sherman) came out to under $50, Sweeney piled up stacks of bills that amounted to $36,000.

After Fineman and Sherman expressed shock, Sweeney appeared confused, asking, “Is that low?”

“I wouldn’t say low,” Fineman replied, with Sherman adding: “Yeah, that’s pretty good, Tina.”

A frustrated Bowen Yang then joined the group. “Another bad day for Dennis,” he said, hands on hips. “All I got was 12 cents and this note saying, ‘You ruined our day.’”

Sweeney would go on to approach a table with three male customers to try to prove that the tip discrepancy was just about quality of service. She then spilled beer all over their table.

“It’s okay,” one customer (Michael Longfellow) said. “Anything you do is okay.”

Sweeney then offered the rest of the beer in the pitcher to another customer (Andrew Dismukes), and poured it directly into his mouth. He reacted afterward: “Oh, that’s awesome! The best part is I’ve been sober for 22 years and that’s over now!”

The third male patron (Mikey Day) then asked if they could “buy her a car or something,” and when she called them all “hilarious,” they laughed right along.

Their response to the other Hooters employees, however, was cold, with Yang only getting out a “Hello, my guys” before being shut down.

After the waitresses informed her that working at Hooters might not be for her, Sweeney said she thought it would be “the one place I’d feel at home.”

“I tried to work at other jobs, but I can’t,” she told them. “I worked at an airport. No planes took off. I was a crossing guard. Thousands died. But if you don’t think I belong at Hooters, I’ll go.”

The Hooters mascot then swooped in to prevent her from quitting, while being wholly indifferent to her colleagues. Hooter B. Owl said he was also mourning the death of Flaco, a beloved Central Park owl, and therefore had a request: “Could someone show me their breasts?”

When Sherman offered, he took off immediately.
