Super Mario RPG makes its glorious return this week on Switch

Stop reading this article and consider picking up Super Mario RPG on Switch. I’ll make the same pitch I made decades ago when I came across it on the SNES: it’s an all-comers RPG. No matter how much you might dislike the genre or Mario as a concept, it has plenty of ways to win you over. It’s also perfect for folks newer to RPGs as a whole and there are enough hooks present for veterans. If you’re already on board or can’t be swayed, there’s plenty of other stuff to sift through too. Persona 5 Tactica and Bluey:…

The Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice Trilogy is coming to PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch in early 2024.Apollo Justice is a younger attorney who took over the series when Phoenix Wright went into retirement. Nintendo just restocked official 3DS battery packs, if you need them

Both types are currently available Handhelds are prone to a certain amount of wear and tear over time: and I should talk, as someone who owns a collection of them! Some of mine are completely beaten up from constant use (and dropping them as a kid), and others are in pristine condition: compliments of my collector habits throughout my lifetime. But whatever the case might be, if you need a 3DS (or 2DS, or New 3DS, and so on) battery pack, Nintendo has official ones in stock now: no need to worry about a secondhand…

3DS eShop devs reflect on a golden age of Nintendo indies

The 3DS eShop is no longer allowing Nintendo fans to make new game purchases, marking the end of a long era of DS-branded handhelds. Not only that, but it’s also sunsetting a vibrant indie community in the process. After helping smaller developers break through with WiiWare and DSiWare, the 3DS eShop was where indies really started to flourish on Nintendo consoles. Multiple games and developers built success stories on the platform, starting series that are still recognized in the eyes of Nintendo fans and stand as…

3DS eShop and Wii U eShop games to get

Oh s#!t, here we go again For all the good that Nintendo brings into the world with its wonderful creations, it’s clear there are still some areas where the company could be doing better. One crucial area where the company has failed for as long as it’s been a household name is continuing access to legacy games. Since the NES was dropped in favor of the SNES, Nintendo fans have had to hold onto old hardware if they wanted to keep playing their favorite games from the previous generation. It hasn’t always tripped up with…
