The best board games for the holidays that aren’t Monopoly

Unsplash There’s a board game addict out there that’s already practicing their “thank you” for Marvel-themed Monopoly and Star Wars Guess Who. While these gifts might suit some, to the modern board gamer there are just too many games with deeper mechanics and interesting twists. Games like Monopoly and Battleship, while they certainly are some of the first games we think of, usually aren’t what a board gamer is after. In other words, generally speaking, they’re not the best board games (according to the average of…

Best Board Game Deals: 7 Wonders, Clue, Codenames, and More

Image used with permission by copyright holder Some days, it can feel like board games are the only remaining way for adults to play in a thoughtful, engaging manner that don’t involve a computer or phone. I took ChatGPT to board games. Is it ready for game night?

We all know that ChatGPT is great at speeding up mundane tasks. What could be drier than explaining the rules of a complicated game at board game night? There’s no substitute for just knowing the game, but being able to reach for AI instead of the rulebook could make things a whole lot easier. Nothing derails a great game of Twilight Imperium like breaking out the Living Rules and endlessly scrolling.
