Denver’s Ironton Distillery will move to Louisville by 2026

A Denver distillery is relocating operations to the suburbs, and when it does it will close its taproom and restaurant in the city. Ironton Distillery & Crafthouse, which opened in the River North Arts District in 2018, will soon break ground on a brand new production facility located at 1303 Empire Rd. in Louisville. Denver ranked near bottom in U.S. for job growth, openings last year

Colorado ranked sixth worst among U.S. states when it came to job creation last year, according to estimates from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Richardo’s Liqueur makers in Lyons settle squabble over secret formula

A spirited dispute between coffee liqueur makers in Lyons has ended with a whimper. Richardo’s Liqueur, a niche company whose only product is a decaf coffee liqueur, sued Spirit Hound Distillers last April, and was then countersued by it six months later. Their small-town tiff included allegations of incompetence and theft of a closely guarded formula. Coloradans still struggling with monthly utility bills, agencies say

Natural gas prices are lower than a year ago, when many Coloradans saw big jumps in their heating bills, but the need for help to pay utility bills remains high, say agencies that offer assistance. For the week ending Jan. 21, the nonprofit Energy Outreach Colorado fielded 555 applications for assistance and spent $333,229, said spokeswoman Denise Stepto. “The need is just unprecedented. Six companies notify state that they plan layoffs

A half dozen companies operating in the state informed the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment of their layoff plans as January came to a close. In total, the companies are letting go of 378 workers up and down the Front Range, from Fort Collins to Pueblo, according to Worker Readjustment and Retraining Notification Act notices filed with the state between Jan. 25 and Jan. 31.
