One of 2023’s most anticipated RPGs is coming to PS Plus on day one

Sabotage Studio announced that its highly anticipated retro-style RPG Sea of Stars will be available as part of the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium Game Catalog when it releases on August 29. Sea of Stars is a turn-based RPG inspired by classic games like Chrono Trigger, where the main heroes’ powers are based around the sun and moon. Sea of Stars’ distinct visual style and polished-looking gameplay has allowed this indie game to stand out alongside the liks of Baldur’s Gate 3 and Starfield, other…

Armored Core VI will be fully supported on Steam Deck

Following a hands-on preview of Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, we had a chance to talk to the game’s director, Masaru Yamamura, and producer Yasunori Ogura who wanted to assure players that the game would be “fully supported” on Valve’s Steam Deck. “Obviously seeing how well Elden Ring performed on the Steam Deck, we were very happy, and we wanted to at least create that as a baseline going forward for this handheld,” Ogura tells Digital Trends. “So it is fully supported for Steam Deck … we just want to reassure…

Why Ubisoft has every right to delete your games

Everyone’s mad at Ubisoft — and for good reason. For a moment, it certainly seemed like Ubisoft was not only shutting down inactive accounts, but also deleting games purchased on Steam. Now, not all of that ended up being true, but the controversy has been a not-so-gentle reminder that you don’t actually own your games — and technically, Ubisoft has every right to delete them if it so pleases. You don’t own your games If you haven’t caught wind of the fiasco, an anti-DRM (Digital Rights Management) Twitter user…

Overwatch 2 will finally launch on Steam alongside next season

Blizzard Entertainment confirmed that Overwatch 2 will make its way to Steam on August 10, the same day its next season, titled Invasion, begins. Overwatch 2 has been available on PC since its October 4, 2022, early access launch, but until now players had to download Blizzard’s proprietary launcher, Battle.net, in order to play it. Although players will still need a Battle.net account that they can connect to Steam to play the game online, Overwatch 2 will be fully integrated into Valve’s popular launcher, with…

Is Exoprimal crossplatform? | Digital Trends

Capcom’s latest release is all about you and four friends teaming up to mow down endless waves of dinosaurs while wearing powerful Exosuits. Being a multiplayer-only title, with no dedicated single-player mode to speak of, you’re going to be encouraged to party up with your friends rather than depend on the matchmaking systems most of the time. Recent years have seen a major push for multiplayer-focused games that release on all consoles, such as Exoprimal, to have full cross-platform support. However, does Exoprimal…

How to create folders on PS5

While the PlayStation 5 is a great step forward from the PS4 on a technical level, there's one disappointing change from the PS4 to PS5: the removal of folders. This handy feature lets you create your own custom section on your home screen where you could organize your games however you wish. After a firmware update, the PS5 has now added Gamelists, which are similar to folders, but not quite as useful. Still, if you want to tidy up your games for easy browsing, here's how to make folders on your PS5.…

FTC v. Microsoft: 5 surprising revelations from the court battle

We have reached an inflection point in Microsoft’s efforts to acquire Call of Duty and World of Warcraft publisher Activision Blizzard as the FTC’s lawsuit to stop it went before a judge. Representatives from Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, Google, and Nvidia chimed in during the hearing, as did a variety of analysts presenting data to help determine whether or not this acquisition will hurt competition in the console and cloud gaming markets. As the video game industry is quite buttoned-up and secretive, this trial…

Balder’s Gate 3’s is coming out sooner than expected on PC

The PC and PS5 versions of Baldur’s Gate 3 have gotten new release dates, leading to a weird situation where the game’s launch has been moved up and delayed at the same time. Originally announced for Google Stadia in 2019, Baldur’s Gate 3 is a successor to BioWare’s classic Dungeons & Dragons RPG franchise and has been in early access on PC since October 2020. Its 1.0 PC release, as well as a PS5 port, were confirmed to launch on August 31 earlier this year, but that is no longer the case. In the latest…
