‘Super Mario Sunshine’ secret language decoded after 22 years

A fan has seemingly decoded the secret language found in Super Mario Sunshine, 22 years after the Gamecube game was released. Released in 2002, there’s a lot of reasons to love Super Mario Sunshine. Between getting to grips with F.L.U.D.D. and defeating Bowser Jr. though, you’d be forgiven for not noticing the mysterious symbols scattered across Isle Delfino. Dolphin’s Wii and GameCube emulator isn’t coming to Steam after all

The Dolphin Emulator, the software that lets you play old Wii and GameCube games, isn’t coming to Steam after all. The developers published a blog post today explaining how the fumbled launch went down — and why they still believe they were in the right legally. In short, Nintendo’s lawyers didn’t want it on Steam, and Valve wasn’t about to take a stand in a potential showdown with a fellow gaming behemoth. The emulator’s creators explained that, contrary to online perceptions, Nintendo didn’t send the team a DMCA…

Dolphin says Nintendo blocked a Steam release of its Wii and GameCube emulator

The Steam launch of Dolphin, an open-source emulator for the Wii and the GameCube, has been delayed indefinitely (via PC Gamer). A blog post by the developers says that’s due to a Nintendo “cease and desist citing the DMCA” (an earlier version of the blog post simply said “issued a DMCA” but it has since been updated) after they’d announced plans for a Steam launch in March. It is with much disappointment that we have to announce that the Dolphin on Steam release has been indefinitely postponed. We were notified by Valve…

Movie, Mario has consistently been one of the greatest characters in video games. He’s such an iconic character that countless video games have had him as the star, and we attempted to…

Dolphin is releasing its Gamecube and Wii emulator on Steam

Nintendo might be making it harder to play its older games on official hardware, but there are other options if you know where to look. One of them is about to be a lot easier to find: Dolphin, a popular emulator that runs most GameCube and Wii titles, will be launching on Steam later this year. Dolphin is already available for free, but launching on Steam could make using the emulator more straightforward on devices like the Steam Deck, where dropping to desktop mode and manually installing programs can be a little…

Grab this Wii U-defining Zelda game before the eShop closes

As we approach the final days of the Wii U’s life span with the impending eShop closure, I’ve been reflecting on my time with that system. Although it’s considered a low point for Nintendo, the Wii U and 3DS era was when I truly became a fan of the company, closely following every new announcement and release. I enjoyed many great Nintendo games on Wii U, like Super Mario 3D World and Xenoblade Chronicles X. Still, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD is the Wii U game I still come back to the most. Maybe it’s…
