Chainsaw Man’s first episode hooked me with its gorgeously gory action

For weeks, my social media feeds have been filled with folks who are very excited about an anime series featuring a man with a chainsaw for a face. It’s called Chainsaw Man. Not being familiar with the original manga, written by Tatsuki Fujimoto, I didn’t quite get what the excitement was about, but I was certainly intrigued, especially with anime studio MAPPA involved (that’s the team behind, among other things, Yuri!!! on Ice). And now that I’ve watched one single episode, I totally get it — the adrenaline has me…

First ‘Hellraiser’ Reviews Promise a Gory Spectacle That Will Have You Hooked

Hulu Director David Bruckner is set to raise a bit of hell in two days’ time, adding on to 2022’s arguably historic horror slate with Hellraiser, a reboot of Clive Barker’s legendary franchise, seeking to put the series back on its feet after most of all the follow-ups to the original film fell flat. In the film, actress Odessa A’zion portrays Riley McKendry, a young woman fighting addiction who happens upon a puzzle box. Little does she know that solving it will result in summoning the Cenobites, demonic beings…

Barbarian review – gory, secretive horror is all bark, no bite | Horror films

The campaign for gnarly, mostly one-location horror Barbarian has been scarily subdued. Just the one trailer – light on plot, heavy on mystery – and that punchy one-word title, a rare example of restraint, crafty less-is-more marketing we don’t see often enough in the exhausting era of trailer teases, teaser trailers, trailer countdowns, digital trailers, extended trailers and final trailers.I’m going to remain as tight-lipped about the specifics, and not just because a strictly worded pre-screening email insisted upon…

Ghost Rider: Vengeance Forever #1 Review: Gory, Grindhouse Fun

| Ghost Rider: Vengeance Forever #1 is a fun, dumb comic. Exquisitely realized from Avatar Press (who is Bleeding Cool's publisher) alum Juan José Ryp, whose detailed and vile style is perfect for Ghost Rider: Vengeance Forever #1, the oversized one-shot comic focuses around Johnny Blaze getting a tattoo from a magical tattoo artist Necro. Ghost Rider: Vengeance Forever #1 cover This being a Ghost Rider comic, Johnny Blaze gets more than he bargained for. Benjamin Percy writes what reads like silly hard, won biker wisdom…

Strange Scaffold has launched the Bean Bone update for Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator, an Among Us crossover which will allow players to “buy the mangled remains of your former crewmates”. The Bean Bone update launched on Monday (July 25), which adds a sizeable slice of free content – including a new “Bean Bone” organ, which is a crew member from Innersloth‘s Among Us that has been chopped in half. “Among us organ traders, the Bean Bone is known as the most delicious organ in the galaxy,” shares the Bean Bone’s…

Gothic ‘n’ gory Gloomwood hits Early Access August 16 – Destructoid

Axe you nicely If there’s one thing that the PC Gaming Show nailed this year, it was remembering not to forget to show New Blood’s Gothic first-person adventure Gloomwood, which previously had the misfortune of being left off of the show by accident, and uploaded to social media once the stream had finished. Oops. Anyway, those who have been waiting to dive into its gory gaslit world will be pleased to hear that Gloomwood finally has an Early Access date, and will be opening its creaky wooden doors on Steam come…
