This Minesweeper roguelite is my new Steam Deck buddy

Despite the fact that I can run console-quality games on my Steam Deck, that’s not usually what I actually want play on the device. Instead, I’m always looking for smaller games that are better suited to the console’s portable nature — ones that won’t drain my battery in under two hours. I dug into Brotato earlier this summer and have been slowly making my way through Dave the Diver, but my latest handheld obsession is even smaller: a quirky indie puzzle game called Let’s! Revolution! Let's! Revolution! - Official…

Venba is all about preserving South Indian culture through cooking

When I write “cooking game,” I’d bet a pretty specific image comes into your head. Your brain might go straight to something like Cooking Mama, where you need to assemble several random recipes through a series of tactile minigames. That’s become a go-to format for developers looking to adapt cooking into a game, but it’s not exactly what developer Visai Games wanted to do for Venba. Venba - Announcement Trailer - Nintendo Switch Set to launch on July 31, Venba is an era-spanning narrative cooking game about a family…

WrestleQuest turns your WWF nostalgia into a turn-based RPG

When I was a kid, my brother and I had a gigantic box of wrestling action figures. I didn’t know who most of them were, but that didn’t stop me from pitting them against one another or any other figures lying around my toybox. Spider-Man, Stretch Armstrong, Baby Sinclair from Dinosaurs — everyone became a player in my absurd wrestling promotion. And that’s exactly the kind of childhood energy WrestleQuest aims to deliver. WrestleQuest - Legends Trailer | PS5 & PS4 Games Set to launch on August 8, WrestleQuest is…
