Metal Gear Solid 3 Crafted Edition brings Minecraft blocks and more to the MGS universe at last – Destructoid

Hideo Kojima is well known for making games with grand political statement hidden not so subtely within their dialogue and cinematics. As of today, players can also enjoy one of these long, drawn-out narrative stealth games within the comfortable confines of Minecraft textures and flavor text. Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater is, in my opinion, the greatest game in the Metal Gear Solid franchise. It added a manual camouflage system and on the fly medical treatments consisting of bugs, twigs, and whatever else is lying…

Finally, a Skyrim mod that lets you match NPC speeds when you follow them

Even though many of us may see Skyrim as one of the greatest RPGs of all time, there’s no denying that it’s a painfully flawed game. We know this, and that’s why modders are always working to make sure Bethesda’s aging epic maintains some degree of relevancy. This mod in particular is pretty simple, but quite effective. As spotted by PC Gamer, Nexus Mods user wSkeever recently uploaded “Simplicity of Stalking – Automatically Follow NPCs.” As the name suggests, this gives you the ability to follow a character in Skyrim…

Skyrim enemies can now outsmart your cheesy long range attacks with this clever mod

If there’s one thing many of us know about Skyrim, it’s that the NPCs are not the brightest around. Enemy AI is usually pretty easy to manipulate, but this one modder decided that better NPC reactions make for a better experience. Back once again with another of their trademark TES5 improvements, Nexus Mods user JaySerpa has made it so Skyrim enemies are a little bit smarter during fights. If you’re the kind of Dragonborn that likes to cheese bandits and the like, you may have to rethink your approaches from now on.…

London dev video shows just how huge the F4 mod really is

Man, have I been writing a lot of Fallout articles lately! Ah, well. One more won’t hurt. This time, however, it’s not about the main games, but about one of the most ambitious mods for Fallout 4, which is still on track for an April release. In the latest progress video from developer Team FOLON, Fallout: London gives us one last look at some of what we can expect from the UK-centric add-on. Specifically, there’s some clarification at the start regarding the use of the word “cells” in a previous video.…

Minecraft Adds Official Mods This Month As A Test, Third-Party Mods Still Supported

Minecraft is still growing and evolving, as Mojang and Microsoft have confirmed that a new type of DLC, add-ons, are coming to the Minecraft Marketplace.Mojang said fans can think of add-ons as mods in that they "change the way that things in the game look and behave." These add-ons, which can be added to existing worlds, allow players to set custom blocks, items, mobs, recipes, and whatever else they can think of."For example, an Add-on might create a gravestone safely storing items where a player dies,…

‘Baldur’s Gate 3’ actor Neil Newbon will star in ‘Fallout London’

The developer of Fallout London has announced that actor Neil Newbon, who played Astarion in Baldur’s Gate 3, has been added to the cast. The “final progress video” for the mod was uploaded to Team FOLON’s official YouTube channel yesterday (February 19). In it, the developers issued updates on the status of the mod and why the delay to April was necessary, as well as revealing a number of the new voices in the game. PCGamesN spotted Newbon’s arrival, portraying a dark haired character that is presently unnamed. YouTuber…

New Vegas mod returns seven years later

You can take the Fallout: New Vegas out of the silly, but you can’t take the silly out of Fallout: New Vegas. Or something like that. At any rate, someone has managed to make modding history by finding an old file that was thought to have been lost to the annals of time. This one is very much for you late ’90s/early 2000s nu-metal fans. As spotted by PC Gamer, Twitch streamer Micky D (via Twitter user UsagiCola) has re-uploaded a mod for NV that adds Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit fame as a companion. Whenever you…

Xenomorphs meet classic Doom in an alien infestation mod tracking hives through life cycle

As influential as the original Doom games are, it’d be interesting to know how much they’d stand the ravages of time were it not for modding and unusual ports. It set the building blocks for the FPS genre back in the day, but the fact that people continue to tweak the original formula shows just how much of an impact the series has had these past 30 years. Sometimes mods will even incorporate other horror franchises. Take this one that mixed Doom with Friday The 13th. Inspired. Now, here’s one for us Alien lovers,…

Here’s Elder Scrolls Oblivion, but with Wind Waker-style cel shaded visuals

Fancy ordering a fake pizza in Oblivion (or even a real one)? Modding allows you to do that. But it’s not all about hot slices of ‘za delivered by a skeleton. After almost 20 years, people are still looking to tinker with the visuals of the fourth Elder Scrolls game. Just not always in the way you might expect. Take Nexus Mods user Wilker as a recent example. If you want TES4 to be more styled after the likes of 2002’s The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, look no further. That’s exactly what this mod does, by swapping out…
