Funko CEO Mondo Statement Is Optimistic But Very Misguided

Days after several core members behind the success of Mondo were fired by Funko, Funko’s CEO released a statement explaining what comes next. And it’s not great.Getty Images Wants AI to Stop Copying Them“The Mondo posters business will continue, period,” CEO Brian Mariotti said in a statement released via social media. “We feel that making extremely limited runs of posters, most of which are 150 pieces or under, limits access to fans unfairly. Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Jurassic Park

Photo: Germain Lussier/io9/MondoMondo has had a huge impact on my life. As far back as I can remember, I always loved movie posters. Originally part of the Alamo Drafthouse, Mondo was purchased by Funko in June 2022; at the time, its CEO Andrew Permaulter told io9 “Our goal is to build the Mondo brand. Our goal is not to turn Mondo into Funko.” It’s unclear what the goal is now, since…

Project Mondo G: The G-Wagen hits the catwalk

The puffy silver Moncler bits gleam like the reflective foil on a space capsule, while in stark contrast, the exposed parts still identifiable as being Mercedes in origin have been treated to a "rough patina" that looks like it's been left unpainted in the rain to rust for a year, then driven through a bushfire.Continue ReadingCategory: Automotive, TransportTags: Mercedes-Benz, Mercedes Benz G-Class, Fashion, Crazy The puffy silver Moncler bits gleam like the reflective foil on a space capsule, while in stark contrast,…
