10 EVs that lease for under $400/month: Ioniq 5, Solterra, Niro, Ioniq 6, Model Y, more

Hyundai IONIQ 5 (left) and IONIQ 6 (right) at Tesla Supercharger (Source: Hyundai) There’s a loophole in the stricter IRA federal tax credit that only applies $3750 rebates on North American-built cars and separately $3750 on domestic batteries. For whatever reason, all EVs get the full $7500 applied to leases, however. So that has more people leasing EVs than ever before. The number of electric vehicle models that can be leased for less than $400/month has grown by 50% since last August. The…

Subaru mistakes 2024 Solterra $7,500 EV tax credit eligibility

After announcing 2024 Solterra prices and updates, Subaru made a goof on its press release. Subaru mistakenly said some 2024 Solterra owners will qualify for the $7,500 EV tax credit. But there’s one (major) issue – It’s not built in the US. Subaru “owners” are not eligible for $7,500 EV tax credit Subaru introduced the 2024 Solterra electric SUV yesterday with new upgrades, including faster charging and more. Thanks to an upgraded battery conditioning system, the 2024 model can recharge…

With dual electric motors, the electric SUV features “outstanding traction and capability” on all kinds of roads or weather conditions. Subaru’s EV includes 8.3″ of…

Shares of Toyota Motor Corp and Subaru Corp dropped after the two Japanese car makers announced recalls of their first mass-produced electric vehicles (EV) for the global market because of a risk the wheels could come loose. The recall by Toyota of 2,700 units of the bZ4X SUVs, rolled out less than two months ago in Japan, is a setback to the world's largest automaker by sales, as it seeks to take on larger EV rival Tesla Inc. A Toyota spokesperson said that not every model was subjected to the recall but declined to say…

The Solterra is coming in hot, offering a highly competitive price for one of the best AWD systems on the market today, electric or otherwise. If you’re willing to forgive the slower speed at which the car can roadtrip, then Subaru’s impressive first…
