0 40

Tata Motors recently updated the Altroz lineup with several new features, and they have now released an advertisement showcasing these additions. With these new features, the updated Tata Altroz aims to position itself as the most premium offering in the hatchback category.

The advertisement highlights three new features added to the Tata Altroz: an air purifier, wireless charger, and a single-pane electric sunroof. It begins by showcasing the air purifier, which displays the air quality index (AQI) on the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The wireless charger pad, located in the lower center console, is then demonstrated in the advertisement.

The final new feature in the updated Tata Altroz is the single-pane electric sunroof, which can be operated through voice commands. The advertisement demonstrates the voice-assisted sunroof being opened and closed using voice commands. The Altroz now becomes the second hatchback in its segment to offer a sunroof, with the Hyundai i20 already featuring this in its higher-spec variants. Although the Honda Jazz used to offer this feature, it was discontinued before the BS6 phase-II emission norms came into effect.

In addition to these new features, Tata Motors recently introduced CNG-powered variants of the Tata Altroz, expanding the range of options available. While these new features were initially said to be available in the CNG variants, Tata Motors has now included them in the petrol and diesel variants of the hatchback. The updated Tata Altroz with these new features has already started arriving at showrooms across the country.

Four powertrain options with the Tata Altroz

The Tata Altroz is currently offered with four powertrain options. The majority of sales come from the variants equipped with the 1.2-litre three-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine, generating 86 PS of power and 113 Nm of torque. This version is available with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The Altroz also comes with a 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission as standard, delivering 90 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque. With the discontinuation of the i20 diesel, the Tata Altroz is now the only hatchback in the country offering a diesel engine.

The Altroz i-Turbo variants feature a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, producing 110 PS of power and 140 Nm of torque. Finally, the CNG-powered variants of the Altroz are equipped with the same 1.2-litre petrol engine, delivering 74 PS of maximum power and 103 Nm of maximum torque in CNG mode.
