0 17

The month of February 2024 has proved to be a huge year for the Indian automotive giant Tata Motors. Over the last few years, Tata has managed to take the third spot on the top carmakers’ list in the country. However, in February of this year, the company managed to beat the South Korean automotive giant Hyundai Motor India Limited. Although this is not the first time that Tata Motors has beaten Hyundai for the second place, it is believed that this time Tata could extend its lead in the Indian market. Following are the reasons behind it.

Tata Motors vs. Hyundai Motor India Limited February 2024 sales:

According to recent sales data, the first spot on the top car makers’ list of India, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, has managed to retain its position as the leading car manufacturer in India.

However, Tata Motors achieved a huge accomplishment by recording 51,267 unit sales domestically in February 2024, marking a notable 20% year-on-year increase compared to the same period in 2023.

2024 Hyundai Creta N Line front

On the other hand, Hyundai posted a total of 50,201 unit sales during the same month. While this represented a commendable 7% year-on-year sales growth, it was not enough to fend off Tata’s surge. The difference between the sales of the two car makers is just 1,066 units.

Tata Motors To Launch 4 New Electric Cars

It has to be noted that at the moment, the combined sales of Hyundai Motors and its cousin brand Kia are still higher than that of Tata Motors. The exact sales volume of Kia Motors for the month of February has not been revealed at the moment.

Tata Curvv Ev

A number of automotive experts believe that Tata Motors this time around is here to secure its position as the second-largest carmaker in the country. The primary reason for this is that the company is about to have a jam-packed 2024 with a number of new models being launched in India.

Hyundai India’s Next Big Launch: Creta N-Line

The company will soon be taking off the covers of the Curvv coupe SUV with an electric drivetrain. This model will boast a unique and premium-looking coupe style, and after the EV drivetrain, it will be launched in diesel as well as petrol.

2024 Tata Harrier EV rear

The company is also inching closer to the launch of the new Nexon iCNG and Harrier and Safari EVs. The company recently, at the Bharat Mobility Global Auto Expo, showcased the near-production model of the Harrier EV. Most likely, this highly anticipated EV SUV will be launched by the end of this year.

Tata Motors is also working on the development of the Altroz EV, which will also help it in scooping up the buyers from the ever-growing electric vehicle market of India. Apart from this, the company has lined up the iconic Sierra EV for launch in India as well, and the near-production variant of this SUV was also showcased at the Bharat Auto Expo.
