However, in February of this year, the company managed to beat the South Korean automotive giant Hyundai Motor India Limited. Although this is not the first time that Tata Motors has beaten Hyundai for the second place, it is believed that this time Tata could extend its lead in the Indian market. According to recent sales data, the first spot on the top car makers’ list of India, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, has managed to retain its position as the leading car manufacturer in India.
However, Tata Motors achieved a huge accomplishment by recording 51,267 unit sales domestically in February 2024, marking a notable 20% year-on-year increase compared to the same period in 2023.
On the other hand, Hyundai posted a total of 50,201 unit sales during the same month. While this represented a commendable 7% year-on-year sales growth, it was not enough to fend off Tata’s surge. The difference between the sales of the two car makers is just 1,066 units.
